OUR CURRENT WORLDWIDE TEAM

BEHIND THE SCENES
BY Erika du Preez | Worldwide proofreader and copy editor, Pretoria
As I reflect on my nearly two-year tenure as proofreader for the esteemed magazine Worldwide, I am filled with gratitude and a sense of honour. Contributing to this publication has been and remains a truly enriching and rewarding experience that has deepened my understanding of faith and its relevance in today’s world.
I am constantly struck by the dedication and passion of the Worldwide team. Their commitment to producing high-quality, thought-provoking content that explores the intersection of faith and culture is truly inspiring. My small role in helping to ensure that each issue meets the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and style has been a privilege and a rewarding experience. It is gratifying to be part of this team, which brings significant topics and matters to readers around the world.
What continues to strike me is Worldwide’s ability to tackle complex and relevant issues with intelligence, compassion, and deep insight. In exploring the intricacies of Catholic teaching, examining social and cultural trends that shape our world, and profiling inspiring individuals and communities, the magazine demonstrates a striking ability to engage and challenge its readers.
Being passionate about language and storytelling, I thoroughly enjoy working with the editor to refine articles that are both informative and compelling. I have learned much from Fr Rafael and share his dedication to ensuring that consistent attention is paid to detail. I also remain inspired by the magazine’s commitment to sharing faith issues in ways that are both authentic and accessible.
I look forward to continuing to contribute to Worldwide’s mission of exploring issues of faith and culture and helping readers to encounter challenging and sometimes daunting topics. I would like to express my appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to this excellent publication and congratulate it and its editorial team on its 35th birthday.
