MUSIC AND SPIRITUALITY

The choir Izwi le Themba (voices of hope in isiZulu) from Saint Daniel Comboni Parish at Mahube Valley, Mameldi, Pretoria, singing at Montserrat Abbey in Barcelona, during their concert tour to Spain in 2008. The group’s name conveys a deep meaning rooted in one of the reasons for singing: to bring hope to the world.

Missing Baby Jesus

Sr Anastasia had lovingly prepared the crib for Christmas. Even Baby Jesus was already in the manger. What great consternation when, at the start of midnight Mass, it was discovered that little Jesus was missing! Where could he be? Who would have committed the terrible crime of stealing him? The puzzle was solved when Fr Tremmel appeared with Baby Jesus, informing the theologically ignorant that Jesus was born at midnight and not before. 

“OH, GOSH, MY SANDWICH!”

IN THE beautiful city of Malaga, Spain, various institutes gathered for a week of Missionary Animation: White Fathers (Missionaries of Africa), Spiritans, Combonis and the Mercedarian Sisters of Berriz. They visited schools, parishes, youth groups and sodalities.
